This monastery is the place where Tsong Khapa bestowed the Dzingchi Jampa, considered one of the four great achievements of Tsong Khapa. Due to the destruction brought about by the Cultural Revolution, now only one temple remains. However, there are many old Buddha statues and murals in the temple, as well as many sacred objects such as the sacred pillar from where lion's milk is reputedly flowed at the time of Gyelwa Tsangyang Gyatso’s birth, and a stone bearing Tsong Khapa’s fingerprint.

དགོན་པ་འདི་ནི་རྗེ་ཙོང་ཁ་པའི་མཛད་ཆེན་བཞིའི་ཡ་ཀྱལ་རྫིང་ཕྱིའི་བྱམས་པ་ཞིག་གསོས་གནང་སའི་ཡུལ་ཡིན་ལ། རིག་གནས་གསར་བརྗེའི་དུས་འགྱུར་གྱི་དབང་གིས་ད་ལྟ་གཙུག་ལག་ཁང་གཅིག་ལྷག་ཡོད་པ་དང་། ནང་རྟེན་བྱམས་སྐུ་དང་སྔོན་གྱི་ལྡེབས་རིས་རྙིང་བ་མང་པོ། རྒྱལ་བ་ཚངས་དབྱངས་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་འཁྲུངས་ཡུལ་གྱི་ཀ་བའི་སྟེང་སེང་གེའི་འོ་མ་བཞུར་མྱོང་བར་གྲགས་པའི་ཀ་བ། རྗེ་ཙོང་ཁ་པས་ཕྱག་གིས་བཅིངས་པའི་རྡོ་སོགས་བཞུགས་སོ། །

本寺是宗喀巴大师培修宗稀仟巴的基地， 也是宗喀巴大师的四大盛事之一。由于“文化大革命”带来的大变化 ，现在这有一所大经堂。寺内有许多旧的佛像和壁画， 还有据说在仓央嘉措的诞生时狮子奶在柱子上流过的柱子， 以及宗喀巴大师的手握石块等许多圣物。
