Anthropologist David Lichter conducted substantial research in Tsum, a Tibetan cultural border area of Nepal, beginning in the 1970s whilst a doctoral student at Stanford University. Over the succeeding decades, he has maintained close ties with the Tsumba community in Tsum proper as well as among Tsumbas who have settled abroad. This collection presents over 1,600 of Dr. Lichter's photographs, which he has kindly donated for free academic use.
