Newly built temple in Kumbu village.
The Kumbu Lhakhang, or Kumbu temple, is about 2 kms to the north-east of Gangtey monastery in Kumbu village. The temple was originally founded by Zhabdrung Tsenden Dewa (1239-1293), a Tibetan lama from the Bon, or pre-Buddhist, religious tradition.
