Nobgang Village, the home village of the four Queens.

Nobgang village is located on a hilltop overlooking Punakha valley. It is the home village of the Fourth King of Bhutan's four Queens. According to oral history, while the ninth Je Khenpo of Bhutan Sakya Rinchen (1710-1759) was in meditation in a remote retreat in the mountains above Jachung Karmo, he noticed a sparkling light coming from the valley below. He sent his disciple to find the source.
